  • Lori Lane Boat Ramp– Thank you to all of the residents and board members that reached out and lobbied the county commissioners to oppose the Lori Lane boat ramp. The county commissioners were hesitant to be put on record as ignoring the recommendations of the Coast Guard and local residents but in the end they endorsed the current plan to proceed with the boat ramp construction contract. Preliminary construction activities have commenced which may increase noise levels near the Palm Valley bridge during the work week. Depending on future traffic and overflow parking challenges the community may need to discuss alternative options such as proposing a stop light at the end of Lori Lane and/or adding trees and landscaping to prevent illegal parking.
  • Marsh Harbor South– The PARC group recently reached out to the board to inform the community that they are refreshing permits to begin construction on Marsh Harbor South aka Cabbage Hammock early to mid-summer 2023. The extension is expected to add an additional 68 homes to the community over the next five years. The PARC group has submitted permits to use Davis access as a construction entrance, but approvals haven’t been granted as of this communication. The project may incorporate a Kayak launch and an upgraded community teleprompter will be necessary to accommodate the additional homeowners. • A few potholes in the neighborhood are creating a road hazard and a contractor has been identified to repair the damaged areas. Work will commence once the weather is sufficiently warm to support asphalt repair.
